When Bad Customer Service Is The Business Model

In honor of Evil Week, we're switching up the Hive Five a bit. Once you realize this, you're not as sharp, apprehensive with the next customer, and can focus your energy where it's appreciated and needed more than wasting time with someone who wants you to pay for the privilege of working for them rather than earn an honest living.

Sprint is one of the best carriers for family plans. So once again, rather than go through another two days of degradation trying to resolve anything on the phone with customer service”, I drive to the Sprint store. In telephone interviews immediately following a support call, 58% of Apple customers were "Very Satisfied" with the experience during the first six months of 2011, compared with 47% of Dell customers and 53% of H-P customers.

Time passed, and Sprint came to admit that they could not honor their earlier commitments, that I additionally couldn't go back to my old phone and plan, that their computerized billing system and customer service staff aren't capable of handling such a simple change, and that they don't care enough about their customers to try to do any better the next time.

To make matters worse, a recent Consumer Reports survey named Sprint the worst customer service provider for the phone industry - for the second year in a row. It's a great idea for Sprint and T-Mobile shareholders, and it could even lead to better service for consumers.

While Gleason wouldn't give any specific details on the exact amount of the discounts, he said they would take many forms: device discounts over Sprint's usual subsidies, trade-in fees for older phones, porting credits for making the switch and activation fee waivers.

That means a lot of people are directly affected and because AT&T and Verizon will react to the news, everyone will see something new from their carrier. After 4 minutes of silence, Jackie returned to confirm that Sprint still had an Amazon Prime promotion, but it was only available to new customers or existing users upgrading their phone (it's available to everyone).

So I called sprint and had them put the phone on line that I already was using the agent apologized for the mistake. Now I'm stuck with a obsolete phone, a hefty termination fee and sorry customer service. I have been a customer since 2001 and I have given so much money to sprint and the service is no that good.

Thanks to the lack of meaningful oversight, companies like Sprint are able to lock their customers into lengthy and confusing contracts, and to charge for incomplete calls and other unsuccessful transactions. As of December 2012, 2,700 Ninjas were helping to improve reputation using their personal networks to engage Bad customer service with customers.

In July 2018 I upgraded 4 phones and at that time was offered a promotion plan. The second week we were there, we got Sprint to donate about ten phones for use in the shelters. I expect that means the company plans to have the 2.5GHz and 600MHz spectrum it would hold should the merger be finalized deployed by then and T-Mobile customers would also be on what's essentially a new network.

Sprint waives it if you sign up for your plan and buy your phone online. Yeah no customer service is what is ever expected but sprint is at the bottom of the pile without a doubt. Still, while I'm sticking with Sprint for now, I can't recommend the service to new customers given the way that they treat even folks who've been with them for a long time.

Customer service: Sprint has some major work to do on its overall customer service scores, but our own interactions with it were fine. The only caveat here is that Sprint should refund the cost of the phone since these customers cannot use them with another carrier.
